Today, Baku hosted Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Business Forum held under the support of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economic Development and AZPROMO.
The forum is attended by about 100 businessmen from various sectors of the economy - construction, engineering, light and food industries, etc.
Delivering speech at the event Deputy FinMinister of Azerbaijan Niyazi Safarov said that at present, Azerbaijan had trade-economic cooperation ties with 145 countries of the world: “Kazakhstan is one of the main economic partners of Azerbaijan. There is appropriate legal base for development of relation between the two countries. I hope that this business forum will stimulate the development of relations between our countries”.
Aktobe Region Governor Arkhimed Mukhambetov noted that Kazakhstan was interested in extension of relations with Azerbaijan. Speaking about investment potential of the province, the Governor said that industrial sphere in Aktobe province rose 2.5 times and reached $8.3 bn during the last 5 years.
“Kazakhstan exports wheat and barley to Azerbaijan, in turn, it imports sugar cane and water pumps from Azerbaijan. There is a bog potential for development of economic trade relations between the two countries”, he added.
President of Azpromo Adil Mammadov, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Investment Company Afgan Isayev, Deputy Governor of Aktobe province Roza Kemalova delivered speeches at the event.
Within the event, Trade and Industry Chambers of Azerbaijan and Aktobe signed a Memorandum of Agreement on mutual cooperation.
